Planning

All the great ideas, inventions, stories, buildings etc.. were designed and created using plans.

sure, things can fall into place with a bit of luck but 99 times out of 100, planning something is what makes it a success. Take this website: i didnt just happen to buy a domain and throw up a few notes, randomly design a template and add it to the search engines… it was all planned.

I experimented along the way and played about with a few things but the bones of the original plan are what this website is built on. i had an idea, mapped it out in my head and began to build it step by step.

The combination of time management and planning will undoubtably increase your points tally, i guarantee that. Don’t go into an exam not knowing what questions you’re supposed to answer or how much time you should allocate per question. Have that all figured out months/weeks BEFORE the exams.

You’ve enough to worry about on the day - will all the poets ive studied be up, will i get a good choice of essays… There will be immense pressure on you, especially if you need high points and it’s crucial that you minimise that pressure as much as possible.

Much like an insurance premium - the greater the risk, the greater the price. With careful planning, you can greatly reduce the risk of your Leaving Cert going horribly wrong.
