There’s a new 3 part documentary on RTE these days called ‘The School’. It features St Peter’s College, Dunboyne. Check it out on RTE Player.
So what have we learned about St Peter’s so far? Well first of all, hats off to them for allowing cameras in – it takes bravery and confidence to do that as it could easily have backfired and probably would backfire in many other schools 😉
I’ve been out of school for 4 years now, which seems like an eternity but this documentary reminded me about what it’s like. The handbags between students & teachers that is blown way out of porportion… the uniform police patrolling corridors and issuing fines & punishment for not closing that top button…
Then we have things like the open day where the floors get their annual polishing and everyone is expected to act and dress abnormally and completely out of character in a bid to lure in new students.
For the students & teachers, it’s a daily routine but for the rest of us it really is entertainment and brings back memories 🙂 Well done RTE & St Peter’s!
