government snooker themselves

There was an interesting article in The Irish Times today titled “Thousands of students face school shutdown“. It basically highlights the fact that the government have banned replacement workers so teachers & staff that are retiring or going on breaks for whatever reason cannot be replaced, meaning existing staff will be over stretched and they simply won’t work because they’re not being paid enough (or that’s what they say).

make us proud! save your country!

YOU are single handedly holding the weight of the nation on your shoulders. You must come up with an idea that will either (a) save money (b) make money. What do you do? Where do you start?

we know what you did last week!

And it wasn’t study! Most of you were on a mid term break and looking at our stats, study wasn’t high on your list of priorities ;-)

going blank

Every day i go blank. These blog posts don’t write themselves. Behind each one is an idea. Something creative.

Worst leaving cert website?

This site was set up, believe it or not, because i didn’t like the look of any other leaving cert sites at the time (in 2006). I still don’t like many of them in 2010 ;-)

Is your maths teacher qualified?

When you’re being taught about  a subject, you assume that your teacher is qualified to teach… you probably don’t even question their qualifications (i know i didn’t when i was at school). Surely that’s down to whoever hires them, whoever pays their wages and evaluates them.

Exam Checklist

It’s amazing the amount of people who turn up to  maths exam without a calculator, or any exam without a pen. Or maybe one pen, one colour that they’ve been using all year long or just found in the hall outside. Don’t be one of those people – have everything prepared and have backups of everything.

Where’s the party?

Right we shouldn’t really be posting this one yet but we hardly expect many visitors on here after the final exams finish so we’ll at least attempt to get the party started before it actually starts…

Time your last minute cramming

We recently posted about the leaving cert timetable for 2010. It would be a good idea to have a read of that post and download the full timetable for the 2010 leaving certificate, but more importantly you should create your own mini timetable.
