Lately there has been a lot of talk about introducing bonus points for good marks in maths and science subjects. Is it fair? Is it unfair? Is it blackmail? Have your say by voting below and leaving us comments.

Some of you will love maths, some of you don’t mind it and will be pretty confident about passing leaving cert maths at the level you are taking it. Then there’s those of you that absolutely hate maths to the point were you just don’t wanna study it or take your leaving cert maths exam. You probably don’t see the point in maths and are wondering why you need all these x, y and z’s anyway!

A recent report shows that 1 in 2 maths teachers aren’t qualified to teach you maths. With maths failure rates on the rise every year, most of you need all the help you can get in this subject…

If you check out our polls section you’ll see we have a poll called: What type of exams do you prefer? Currently 67% of voters have went for continuous assessment, with 26% going for exams and the remaining 7% of you just don’t care. Thanks everyone for voting by the way!

I know a fairly high percentage of you take grinds, or have taken grinds in something.

Most of you have the brains to get what you want / need in the leaving cert. Some people just seem to naturally do anything they’re told… they’ll have homework done as fast as it’s given to them, they’ll attend easter revision courses and grinds classes despite the fact they’ve aced their mocks…

And it wasn’t study! Most of you were on a mid term break and looking at our stats, study wasn’t high on your list of priorities

This site was set up, believe it or not, because i didn’t like the look of any other leaving cert sites at the time (in 2006). I still don’t like many of them in 2010

Time is ticking and you’re all looking forward to getting started and FINISHED your leaving cert exams! Just incase you didn’t know, you’ll be getting your leaving cert results on the 18th of August 2010.

Right we shouldn’t really be posting this one yet but we hardly expect many visitors on here after the final exams finish so we’ll at least attempt to get the party started before it actually starts…
